The desire for a world redeemed has been the vision of the Jewish people since antiquity. We look at the world that “is” and work toward a world that “ought” to be. However, we believe that the era of redemption will only come about when the work of our hands set the stage - through righteous behavior toward one another. In that era of redemption, biblical prophecies of peace will come to be realized. Then, may the hearts of the parents turn to their children, and the children’s hearts turn toward their parents.

Looking at all the pain in the world
as we fight against one another
I wonder if the day will ever arrive
when we learn to love each other

The Bible teaches that a time will come
when brotherhood will replace rage
And Elijah the prophet will visit us
to usher in that age

Veheshiv lev avot al banim, al banim
Velev banim al avotam

On that day peace will reign over the world
as we all unite as one,
And the lion and lamb will lie down side-by-side,
and hatred will be gone

And parents and children will open their hearts,
embrace each other with love,
And God’s name will be known throughout the earth
as it is in the heavens above
Veheshiv...

As we walk down the roads of our lives
As our visions of peace come alive
We are building a world without fear
Counting the days ‘til Elijah - he draws near
Veheshiv...
