This prayer is one of the twelve intermediary blessing found in the weekday Amidah in the Reform Movement’s prayerbook. The traditional version of this text calls for all Jewish exiles to return home to Israel from the corners of the earth. This Reform Jewish adaptation calls out for a more universal freedom. It seeks freedom for all oppressed people. Blessed is God, redeemer of the oppressed.

T’kah b’shofar gadol l’cheiruteinu
V’sa neis lifdot ashukeinu
v’kol dror
v’kol dror yishama
b’arba kanfot ha’aretz.

Baruch ata Adonai,
podeh ashukim.

Sound the great shofar
And call out for our freedom
Raise the banner high and let everyone be free
Sing the song of freedom
In the corners of the earth
In the corners of the earth

Baruch ata Adonai, podeh ashukim.
