The Rush

THE RUSH
words and music by Neal Katz

Isn’t it funny, how fast things go
When you’re trying so hard
to make them go so slow
One minute a child, the next an adult
And I’m just trying so hard to hold on, to hold on

I’ve been told to stop and smell the roses
Take my time before it takes hold of me
Get my shopping done before that big store closes
So the rush is on to see all I can see
All I can see

Taught to be mindful, of my passing years
But that’s such a hard thing
for such a young kid to really hear
So I ignored it, cause I had no fear
Now at 30 those voices
those voices are coming in so clear

So many street signs, to point my way
To keep me focused and
keep me from going too far astray
Mixed in the middle, caught in between
All that I need to still do and all that I have seen
